Named after the late Dr. Hernando Salazar, in view of his important role in the creation of the Society, this fellowship training award provides a pathologist from a developing country the opportunity to train with a pathologist of their choosing who has special expertise in gynecological pathology. The Society provides $5,000.00 with the expectation that the sponsoring institution will match this amount. The sponsored training should be a minimum of six months (preferably one year) in duration and a portion of the training must take place in the calendar year the fellowship is awarded.

Potential candidates should be nominated by a Society member via submission of the following information to the ISGyP Secretary:

1. The candidate’s current CV.
2. A letter of support from the candidate’s home institution supporting the fellowship training.
3. A proposal from the sponsoring pathologist, specifying dates of training and a brief description of what will be accomplished during training.
4. A letter from the sponsoring institution stating that it will match the $5,000 that ISGyP provides for expenses.
